Woodbury, NY Since 2009, The PMDA Soldiers' Angels Portraits of Love Project has used the power of photography and the strength of the imaging industry's leading companies to give back to the men and women who defend our country each and every day, by providing family portraits to soldiers deployed overseas during the holiday season.

With the help of Fujifilm’s Seehere.com, a printed portrait was sent to the family and another shipped directly to personnel serving overseas during what is probably the most difficult time to be away from home.

In 2011, PMDA partnered with the USO to extend their military outreach which enabled families across the country to have access to this program.

One of the participating bases, USO Gulf Coast, MS hosted sessions on December 3rd and 4th where two professional volunteer photographers, Rick Gerrity and John Bentham drove over 1,300 miles to use their creativity and photographic talents to bring deployed soldiers stunning and poignant portraits of their families.

During their road trip, John tweeted about their adventure and the Portraits of Love program and one of his followers from SUNY College at Old Westbury on Long Island, NY took great interest in it.

The shots captured that weekend will now be exhibited from February 1st through March 15th at the Amelie A. Wallace Gallery at SUNY College at Old Westbury and both photographers will be giving lectures about their techniques during this time.

The PMDA would like to extend their appreciation to Canon and Gilbert Displays for printing and mounting of the images for this exhibit.

An opening reception will be on Wednesday, February 1st held between 4:00pm and 7:00pm.
