This week while in New Hampshire we stopped off on a cold Saturday night to the Ice Castles in Lincoln. If you find yourself in the Northeast during winter, it is a must see for your list of things to do. Initially I wasn't sure what to expect. A bunch of ice and cold slippery ground perhaps; but as the sun set, and the temperature dropped, the lights came on and the ice took on a magical lighted appeal. I didn't have a tripod with me so my images were shot around ISO 640-1600, mostly with the Fujifilm XF 23mm lens at night and many with the Fujifilm XF 10-24 at dusk.

Arriving there around 4pm on a gray day, the ice simply blended into the background and the initial impact wasn’t there. Then the sun dropped and the colors popped and the place was alive with people.
