![]() f295 Symposium 2008: An Examination of Lensless, Alternative, & Adaptive Photographic Processes May 29 - June 1, 2008 | Pittsburgh PA USA The f295 Symposium is less than 50 days away! It's the only event of it's kind to exclusively feature (alternative) photographers talking about their work and the reasons and rationale behind the work. We're pleased to have several important and exciting NEW announcements! ------------------------------- EXHIBITIONS! We now have several exciting exhibitions planned for your enjoyment! The f295 Exhibition of Contemporary Alternative Photography. May 31 - July 5, 2008 | 707 Penn Gallery, The Pittsburgh Cultural Trust f295, with the support of the Pittsburgh Cultural Trust, is pleased to present an exciting exhibition of contemporary alternative photography featuring works by some of today’s most well known photographers practicing historic or alternative methods.The following artists will have work on display (This list is being update and expanded, for up to the minute information check the website): Jo Babcock, Craig Barber, Jill Enfield, Robert Hirsch, France Scully Osterman, Tom Persinger, Jerry Spagnoli, Keith Taylor, WITH Others TBA! This piece is a collection of 850 hundred black & white photographs, each preserved in a clear 32 ounce glass jar with a black lid.... In addition they'll have alternative photographic work by Rita Bernstein and Karen Kaighin in the New Works Gallery. Opening Reception: May 31 from 2-4pm. This event is put forth in the spirit of cooperation and sharing with the grand design of moving the art of photography forward outside of the usual competitive environment! This is not an event that will pronounce what is BEST --we're here to examine what is POSSIBLE! France Scully Osterman will deliver an artists talk at the reception entitled: Serendipity and Exquisite Manipulation. She and the the other 2008 f295 speakers (and a number from 2007) will be available for discussion during the event!
