Your textbooks can be the best-looking in the school if you make your own book
covers.
What You'll Need for Each Book
Brown wrapping paper or other large sheet of paper.
Photograph of you, about 3 inches wide.
Book title and your name, printed from the computer.
Paste, scissors, ruler
Here's what to do:
1. Cut the paper to 10 X 17 inches. This size should fit most books.
2. Place the book in the middle of the paper and open it up.
3. Fold the paper around the left side of the book. Crease the fold well.
4. Close the book. Fold the paper around the right side of the book. Crease the fold
well.
5. If your cover is too long, cut off the extra paper. Be sure to use a ruler so you cut it
straight.
6. Cut out the title and photographs and paste them on your cover.
Notes and Other Ideas:
1. Instead of a picture of yourself, use pictures that suggest the subject of the book. For example, for a geography book, you could use pictures of places you've been to.
2. Decorate the cover with rubber stamps, stickers, and other decorations. We printed
numbers on the computer to use on the arithmetic book; you could use letters for a
spelling book.
3. Put a picture and title on the spine of the book.
