Wrap It Up

by Elinor Stecker-Orel
Personalized Gift-Wrap Paper

Article rating: 7.00

Imagine getting a present wrapped in paper with your picture all over it. You can delight friends by making such personalized paper  they'll probably save the paper as well as the gift. Our directions are for printing it from your computer. Since you are limited  by the size of paper that you can put in your printer, this gift wrap will have to be for small presents. But great things come in small packages.

What You'll Need:
  • Scanned photograph of the recipient.
  • Image-editing software.
  • Regular paper, not photo paper; photo paper is too stiff to fold around a box.

Here's What To Do:

 1. In your image-editing software, reduce the photograph to about 1 x 1 1/2 inches.

2 With the picture still on the screen, open a new file. It should have the same resolution and magnification as the photograph.

3. Copy and paste multiple copies of the picture onto the new file. Arrange them in a pleasing
manner.

4. Fill in the background with a color. Use "bucket fill" if you have that option.

5. Print

Notes:

I silhouetted Jen's face before copying the photo. I also added her name, using my program's text option. The standard 8 1/2 x 11 paper wrapped nicely around a small jewelry box.
