Austrian born photographer Thomas Schauer pursued his childhood passion for photography by working as a freelance photographer in Vienna after completing his formal education. In 1994 he founded his own studio in the heart of Vienna and in 2002 opened an office in NYC. Working with both traditional large format cameras as well as with modern high end digital equipment, Thomas Schauer challenges photographic conventions and explores new technologies. ![]() © 2004 Thomas Schauer
Aside from having travelled extensively around the world photographing different cultures, Thomas is occupied working for his numerous prominent clients such as ECCO Press / Harper Collins, Warner Music, Universal Music and Esso amongst others. He is particularly acclaimed for his skilful and artistic food photography and celebrated for his incredibly mouth-watering shots for a number of prestigious cookbooks, the latest one for the renowned New Yorker four star chef David Bouley’s book “East of Paris”. Thomas Schauer currently continues working on several book projects that will be published in the near future among them are “Braising” by Daniel Boulud, which was shot in New York City, “Italian Dishes” by Fabio Trabocchi produced in Washington and “Austrian Dishes” by Martina Willmann, made in Vienna. ![]() © 2004 Thomas Schauer
