RSS stands for Really Simple Syndication (or Rich Site Summary, or RDF Site Summary, depending on who you ask).  It is an XML-based computer format that is becoming more and more popular each day.  Basically, RSS is a way to distribute news, headlines, and other content throughout the internet.
