I became interested in photography in March 2005 when I bought my Nikon D70 DSLR camera. My boyfriend told me that he was being deployed to Iraq at the end of March, and I was extremely sad over the thought of not seeing him for more than a year. I've used my photography to occupy my time and my mind while he is away and it has grown into a full blown passion. In 3 months, I've taken over 8,500 images, the majority of which were probably deleted. But I've gotten some good ones also and have learned a lot in the process.
