"When I put the film on the light table to view it after a shoot, I'm often astonished how beautiful life can be in one single moment." -- Robert Castellino Photography is a means for Robert Castellino to express his deep love of nature and the state of Colorado. Robert is a master nature photographer, book publisher, story teller, speaker, founder of Whispering River, and a longtime resident of the Boulder area. His adventurous spirit often finds him deep in the Colorado wilderness before the sun is up - and out there still as the sun sets. ![]() Mesa Arch - Winter Sun Rise - Canyonlands Utah © 2005 Robert Castellino
Although Robert has been a professional photographer since 1988, he also considers himself a lifelong student, always working to perfect his craft. One of his many teachers is Sam Abell, noted National Geographic photographer. Robert is a teacher himself - through his lectures and workshops, and having taught at the Music and Arts Conservatory of Santa Barbara. He's also produced various multi-media shows performed by the Colorado Music Festival Orchestra and the Rocky Mountain Sierra Club. ![]() Marshall Wetlands Sunrise - Boulder Colorado © 2005 Robert Castellino
Robert's breathtaking photographs are a result of both swiftness and patience - quickly setting up shots, then waiting for the ideal conditions or moments in order to capture his beautiful and dramatic images (sometimes waiting for hours for the perfect moment!). Robert's goal is simple, yet profound: to share the beauty of the natural world and the wonder of life through photography and storytelling. ![]() The Pavillions at 16th and Champa - Denver, Colorado © 2005 Robert Castellino
"I feel blessed to have seen so much - and to know there's so much more to see." -- Robert Castellino
