My interest in photography started in highschool when I helped my Dad build a darkroom in the garage, some 25 years ago now. I've dabbled with it off and on since then but nothing really serious. Then digital cameras became more affordable and I caught the bug again in a big way. As an amateur, I'm still learning my craft and trying to define my own techniques. I try to look at things in different ways and see what most people don't see, and capture that special moment that can never be recreated. Over the last few years, I've taken a keen interest in nightime and lightning photography. I love lightning... the incredible power of nature and every strike is completely unique. Most of the time, because lightning is faster than the human eye can process, I don't even realize what the sensor captured until I download the shots to the computer.

Lenses used: Canon EFS 18-55mm, Quantaray EF 28-90mm, Quantaray EF 100-300mm
