Joyce Tenneson
Tenneson’s most current book “Wise Women” features images of women from age 65 to 100. Not all of these women are famous or used to being the subject in front of a camera. However, one of Joyce’s main talents is to make everyone feel comfortable in front of her camera (even other photographers!). Approximately three hundred women were photographed and interviewed to show as wide a cross-section of women as possible. From beautician to Supreme Court Justice, from volunteer teacher to Academy Award winning actress, this book is said to “turn all the negative stereotypes of aging on their head”. “Wise Women” made such a huge impact, that it became a six-part feature on the national TODAY Show in recent months.
