Hang a Garland of Pictures

by Elinor Stecker-Orel

Article rating: 6.67

String a ribbon across a window, door, or even a wall, and you'll have a way to show off pictures and decorate your room at the same time. Best of all, it's easy to change or add pictures whenever you feel like it.

What You'll Need:
  • Wooden clothespins
  • Paints, crayons, or markers
  • Yardstick or tape measure, Cord, yarn, or narrow ribbon (I used gift-wrap yarn for my garland)
  • Push pins, Photographs, Scissors

Here's What to do:

1. Color the clothespins with paint, markers, or crayons. You can make them all the same color or make each one different.

2. Measure the area where you will hang the ribbon.

3. Measure and cut the ribbon about one yard longer than the above measurement.

4. Use push pins to attach each end of the ribbon to the wall or window. Let the ribbon hang somewhat loosely, with the ends dangling down, as it does in the illustration.

5. Use the clothespins to clip the photos to the ribbon.

I did this in the master bedroom with a pretty ribbon and used cards that my husband and I had given each other.
