Glossary

W
WATT-SECONDS: :
Measurement of electric energy commonly used to describe flash brightness.
WIDE ANGLE LENSES: :
A lens with a wide angle of view, as expressed by a relatively ow-number focal length such as 20mm, 24mm, 28mm or 35mm.

The beauty of these lenses is that they see a wide expanse of the scene in front of the camera, imitating what you might see when you scan from right to left with your eyes. They are ideal for landscapes when you want to show the breadth of the scene, or when shooting in small enclosed spaces like a group portrait in an office.
