Film Questions

35mm Film
Whatever the occasion or the subject, for decades average consumers have taken their pictures on 35mm film. This popular film type has long been considered the standard format of photojournalists and serious amateur photographers. While this still remains true, this type of film is also used in most amateur point-and-shoot cameras, as well as many single-use cameras.

Because 35mm film has been around since the 1930's, doesn't it represent old technology?
It is true that the 35mm film format has been widely used for decades. However, film emulsions -- the image-forming layers found on today's films -- are far more sophisticated and capable of capturing clear, sharp pictures across a wide range of lighting conditions than they were even five years ago.
