Fall Foliage by Brandon Remler

As the leaves change color this time of year, opportunities for some great and colorful pictures are all abound. With his Fujifilm FinePix S3 and a Fujifilm FinePix F30, TakeGreatPictures.com contributor Brandon Remler offers up a few of his choice shots that will inspire you to take advantage of the Autumn season.

This water aqueduct in Shokan, NY was bathed in afternoon sun on a fall day. As I found the angle I liked with my 70-200 lens. I knew I would have an interesting shot with a dramatic background. Sometimes nature just works for you! I used Fujichrome Provia for this image. © 2006 Brandon Remler

This fall scene was made during a drive through the Catskill Mountains. I saw a great red barn and at first glance i thought to shoot the full scene. As I got out of my car I walked around the side and saw this scene appear. I used my 70-200 lens to compress the field of view. Fujichrome Velvia is the key to the rich colors. © 2006 Brandon Remler

The orange leaves are on a Japanese Maple in Woodstock, NY. The tree lights up with color each year - but on this day I caught the sun painting a branch dramatically. This was captured with Fujichrome Velvia and my 28-70 lens. © 2006 Brandon Remler

This lake reflection was shot in Liberty, NY. I was driving on a winding country road when the colors leapt out at me. I knew I had all the components for winning image. Soft sunlight, depth of color, still water and glorious natural colors. I shot this with my Fujifilm FinePix S2 and a 70-200 lens. © 2006 Brandon Remler

The are various swimming holes I know about from my early years growing up in Woodstock, NY. I was always interested in the lush area here when in summer it's almost dark due to the canopy of trees. So in the fall I went back to see how the leaves falling to the ground opened up the scene and the colors came alive. Fujichrome Velvia and 20-35 lens. © 2006 Brandon Remler

This mountain scene around Woodstock, NY was a rare fall color burst. Each year I drive the mountain road to view the colors. Several years back the mountains exploded with color. I captured this scene with Fujichrome Velvia and my 28-70 lens. © 2006 Brandon Remler

This stream is located in a forest mountain range about one hour west of Seattle. As I walked the trail I was concentrating on the fall mountain colors above. When I stopped for a water break I noticed this small stream. Then as I took a closer look I found an angle where the fall colors were reflecting in the water. The shaded area of the stream led to the cool tones - while the yellow leaves of the mountain lit up the water. I used a tripod and long shutter speed to blur the water. 	I am not better or close to taking shots that are posted here but I can say I think a bit more opening of the time orAV would be good for the pictures. A bit too dark to show the surroundings. all are pretty shots with wonderful scenery but the light!!! 	Your picutres shot with Fujichrome explode with color - gorgeousl. I especially like the Japanese maple and the lake refloection. The reds in the mountain scene are so vivid. Falll colors are my favorite pictures. I just returned from a few very short days in Hudson, NY (close to the Catskils) and Lenox, MA. I took a few hundred shots of the fall beauty.
