Photograph the Change of Seasons

Photograph the Change of Seasons

Professional Photographer Jay Kinghorn offers a photo tip and location for National Photo Month.

Article rating: 7.00

Most of the time, when photographers talk about photographing the change of seasons, they’re referring to the fall colors. Although not as dramatic as fall foliage any change in seasons can be a fantastic time for landscape photography.

May in Rocky Mountain National Park outside Estes Park Colorado is a time of tremendous change. Winter quickly loses it’s grip on the high peaks and summer is right around the corner. During this short time, creeks are at their highest levels, animals are more prevalent and tourists are scarce. The weather is more stable than almost any other time of year and great pictures can be found around every corner.

Rocky Mountain National Park is approximately one and a half hours north and west from Denver. Take Highway 36 north to Estes Park and follow signs to the park entrance.
