Sometimes strangers that you meet on the road make great portrait subjects. Never be afraid to ask someone to pose. The worst thing that could happen is that they might say no... and they almost never do say no. People are usually flattered to be asked to pose for a photograph, especially when the photographer promises to send a printed copy as an expression of thanks.
