2007 Texas Scottish Festival & Highland Games - Arlington, Texas Texas Scottish Festival & Highland Games runs from June 1st to the 3rd.
The Texas Scottish Festival & Highland Games are renowned for its outstanding musical entertainment. The Festival again features some of the top Scottish performers in the world including--the acclaimed Scottish fiddler Alasdair Fraser, renown Scottish balladeer Alex Beaton, noted author, composer and entertainer Brian McNeill from Scotland, the celtic groups: Jiggernaut, & Scottish Rogues, the high energy celtic rock group Killdares, noted Edinburgh Folk singer Ed Miller with John Taylor, and many other artists and performers.
The Festival will again be hosting the U.S.A. vs. CANADA professional athletic team Championships. Also scheduled are Championship Scottish Highland Dance & Scottish National Dance competitions The solo bagpiping & drumming contests and Bagpipe Bands will feature some of the premier bagpipers in the world. The featured Bagpipe band will be the Championship North Texas Caledonian Pipes & Drums
The festival has five large entertainment tents this year to showcase the national and regional celtic, folk, and Scottish entertainers. Highlander Magazine has rated the Texas Scottish Festival the number one Scottish festival in North America for entertainment and talent.
Scottish foods & ales including: haggis, fish & chips, scotch eggs, meat pies, bridies, & bangers will be available as well as American festival foods. Scottish vendors with a wide variety of merchandise from Scotland & Great Britain will be displaying their inventory of authentic tartan wear, kilts for the gentlemen, crafts, records, books, and gift items. Also find unique Celtic designed crafts, jewelry, and art.

2007 Fes Festival of World Music - Fes, Morocco The Fes World Music Festival runs from June 1st to the 10th.
The spirit of Morocco’s ancient holy city of Fes inspired the creation of the Sacred Music Festival. It is now recognised as one of the world’s great musical events, with visitors converging on the city from all over the globe for the festival week. They come for intimate performances that take place under a great Barbary oak in the gardens of the Batha Museum – and for big events staged with Arabian Nights splendour in the Bab Makina palace courtyard.
Alongside the music festival, The Fes Encounters brings together politicians, academics and social activists to discuss the urgent issues of our times. These include conflict resolution, climate change, urban renewal, social justice and much more. This year’s focus is on cultural diversity versus globalisation – and the relationship between faith and reason.
Free events include the enormously popular Sufi Nights by Moroccan Sufi brotherhoods – and the Festival in the City staged throughout the festival week at two venues. The Fes Festival is a unique experience that combines high art, popular entertainment, spiritual energy and intellectual challenges.

2007 Chicago Blues Festival - Chicago, Illinois The Chicago Blues Festival runs from June 7th to the 10th.
This annual outdoor event is the largest free-admission blues festival in the world. It showcases international, national and local Chicago artists on over five stages.
The main attractions perform in the Petrillo Music Shell, but other scheduled and impromptu performances also take place throughout Grant Park and on several side stages. More than 750,000 people are expected to attend.

2007 Blue Ridge BBQ Festival - Tryon, North Carolina The Blue Ridge Barbecue Festival runs from June 8th to the 9th.
From humble beginnings in 1994, the Blue Ridge Barbecue Festival has grown into the biggest annual event in Polk County, one of the most popular festivals in Western North Carolina, and one of the premier barbecue events in the nation.
The Blue Ridge Barbecue Festival has earned the reputation as one of the finest food festivals in the country. Interestingly, one of the main reasons for this is that it's not just about food. Known as the Mecca of Bluegrass, the Bill Monroe Music Park & Campground hosts the oldest, continuous running bluegrass festival in the world. This year, the Bill Monroe Bean Blossom Bluegrass Festival June 9-16, 2007 will be celebrating its 41st year with over 50 bands, music and instrument workshops, a bluegrass camp for kids and a whole lot more!

2007 Haight Ashbury Street Fair - San Francisco, California Haight Ashbury Street Fair takes place on June 10th.
It is not the Summer of Love, but it is one of the most colorful summer street fairs The City has to offer. There is lots to see and do, but the most interesting sight of all may be the Deadheads, punks, grunge-meisters, and yuppies all mingling to the sounds of music and the aroma of the organic and not-so organic treats offered up by the street merchants. The fair, which takes place in June, is always crowded, so public transportation is definitely the way to get there.

2007 Fieldays - Hamilton, New Zealand Fieldays runs from June 13th to the 16th.
Fieldays is the biggest agricultural trade show in New Zealand, attracting exhibitors and visitors from all over the world. The show is more like a pleasure park than an agricultural fair, with five theme areas - Dairy Expo, Cattle Handling, Tractor and Machinery, Forestry and Tree Crops.
As well as the many international exhibitors and the vast gamut of products on show there are competitions to keep everyone amused. From sheep dog trials to tractor versus tractor, there is something for everyone. One can also be kept amused by the art and fencing competitions and, best of all, the fashion show with clothes made out of farm products!

2007 GoldCoast Oceanfest - Devon, England GoldCoast Oceanfest runs from June 15th to the 17th.
Since its inception, back in 1999, the GoldCoast Oceanfest has organically grown into one of the most recognisable freesports lifestyle events of its kind. 2007 Harrisburg Brewers Fest - Harrisburg, Pennsylvania The Harrisburg Brewers Fest takes place on June 16th.
Tröegs Brewing Company is teaming up with the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation of Central Pennsylvania to put on the fourth annual outdoor beer and music festival in downtown Harrisburg. Beer is the focus, with many of the classic beer styles represented, including fruity ales, potent bocks, rich porters, formidable stouts, hoppy pale ales, flowery pilsners and syrupy barley wines.
The Harrisburg Brewers Festival is an excellent opportunity to sample and learn about a variety of beer styles. Also, live musical entertainment is offered throughout the session.
They have secured 30,000 square feet of festival space and have 35 breweries. There will be food concessions and a seated area at the back of the festival site. The festival site can accommodate 2,600 beer lovers. There is no judging at this event; rather, it is an opportunity for craft-brew lovers to enjoy and sample 70+ products from some of the regions finest breweries.

2007 Winexpo - Bordeaux, France Winexpo runs from June 17th to the 21st.
Created in 1981, by the Bordeaux Chamber of Commerce and Industry, the Vinexpo exhibition has established itself over the years as the key event for major international operators in the wine and spirits sector.
It is held in Bordeaux every uneven-numbered year. Vinexpo is the key trade fair for the international wine and spirits industry, held at the Parc des Expositions.
Vinexpo's reputation as a key meeting point and place of business for suppliers, buyers, sommeliers, restaurateurs, trade journalists and experts is now firmly established. This year over 2500 exhibitors and 60,000 visitors from all over the globe are expected. Its success is due to the unrivalled range and quality of products on offer under one roof, from the established great houses such as Remy and Chandon Estate to new, lesser-known suppliers from Trinidad and Japan.

2007 DC Caribbean Carnival - Washington D.C. DC Caribbean Carnival runs from June 23rd to the 24th.
The Caribbean comes to Washington D.C. once a year by way of annual carnival, attended by around half a million people.
The parade, kicks off on Saturday and featuring more than 25 masquerade groups with about 3000 participants, leaves 3rd and Madison Sts NW and travels west along Constitution Avenue, turning right onto 14th Street, towards Pennsylvania Avenue. It then moves right at Pennsylvania Avenue, where there are judging stations in front of the District Building.
On both Saturday and Sunday the fun continues with an all-day festival. Taking place in Washington's Banneker Park, it features tasty food, colourful arts and crafts stalls, and a varied musical programme. Be prepared for a fun-filled weekend of Caribbean party atmosphere.

2007 ¡Viva El Mariachi! Festival - San Diego, California ¡Viva El Mariachi! Festival takes place on June 24th.
Every year San Diego commemorates world-famous Mexican music, mariachi, at the Del Mar Fairgrounds Activity Center. The mariachis dress in wide brimmed hats and studded charro suits. The songs speak of machismo, love, betrayal, death, politics and revolutionary heroes. The finest Mexican food is also available - tacos, quesadillas and burritos - and all in all, this is a feast of Mexican culture.

2007 Riverboat Jazz Festival - Silkeborg, Denmark The Riverboat Jazz Festival runs from June 18th to July 1st.
The Riverboat Jazz Festival takes place in the center of Jutland, in some of the most beautiful nature the land has to offer. The festival last for 4 days. The town is filled with a lot of different jazz music: New orleans, Dixieland, swing, street parade, gospel, big band, and jam sessions. Also younger jazzstyles are now part of the festival. The festival takes place on the streets, town squares, the lakes in and around Silkeborg - and most of all in the town center, on pubs, restaurants, cafés etc. - But especially in the 4 great tents, where the 4 main stages are located. These are placed at the habor, on Bindslevs Plads, and on the main town square. Each year the program includes roughly 65 bands and soloartists from Denmark and the rest of the world.
