Art Exhibit in Miami, FL

Building on the success of Switzerland's famous Art Basel in June, Art Basel Miami Beach transforms the Miami Beach Convention Center into a magnet for the world's artists, gallery owners, curators, collectors and art lovers.

Bringing together painting and drawing, sculptures, installations, photography, video, multimedia art and performances, works by hundreds of artists are exhibited by 150 galleries from Europe, America, Asia and Australia.

The display spans the broad sweep from masters of classical modern art to protagonists of contemporary art, including raw new talent. A program of art in public places rounds out the schedule.

The official event list is published at the beginning of September on the Art Basel Miami Beach website.

Marathon in Las Vegas, NV

Experience the rush of adrenaline on the start line in front of Mandalay Bay when the gun goes off and a spectacular laser display set to Elvis' "Viva Las Vegas" rocks in this inaugural event. Ideal weather and a loop course with a gradual mid-race incline followed by a downhill race to the finish line set the stage for an exhilarating marathon designed to set and break records, and shatter personal bests.

Come early for the two-day New Las Vegas Marathon Expo as part of this unforgettable, fun-filled weekend. See the lights. Feel the thrills. Enjoy the action. Experience all that and more at the New Las Vegas Marathon. There is only one chance to be there at the beginning.

Winterfest Boat Parade in Fort Lauderdale, FL

The Seminole Hard Rock Winterfest Boat Parade in Fort Lauderdale, Florida will be taking a route through the heart of the city's downtown. Approximately 1 million spectators are expected to gather along the parade's 12 mile route this year in order to see the wonderfully illuminated seafaring vessels as they snake down the new river. There will also be an ice rink and motorcycles on the water. If that doesn't sound like a unique photo-op, I don't know what else does.
