Ask your parents to save those CDs they get in the mail. Instead of throwing them away, you can turn them into shiny ornaments for your Christmas tree.

What You'll Need:
  • Two CDs.
  • Two small photographs.
  • Double-stick tape.
  • Small, round object, such as a jar cover, to act as a pattern. It should have a diameter of 2 1/2 to  3 inches.
  • Paste, scissors, pencil.
  • Narrow ribbon or cord.

Here's What to Do:

1. Place your pattern on top of each picture and trace around it.

2. Cut the pictures out and paste them in the middle of the shiny side of each CD.

3. Use double-stick tape to stick both CDs together, back to back. Make sure the tops of the pictures go in the same direction.

4.You'll need the help of an adult to put a hole in the top of your ornament. They'll need to heat the tip of an awl in a flame. When the awl is very hot, it can be pushed through the CDs, making a small hole. Let the CD(s) cool.

5. Loop ribbon through the hole. Now you can tie your ornament on the tree.
