September 1, 2006, Commack, NY — Tamron USA, Inc. announced a photo contest for scrapbookers called “An Emotional Appeal.” The leading photo lens company is looking for images from scrapbook enthusiasts that convey a variety of human emotions—happy, sad, tired, mad, or any other. The contest winner will receive a Tamron AF18-200mm lens designed for her digital SLR camera (a $400 street value). The winner and honorable mentions will be featured in Tamron’s online gallery and announced in Creating Keepsakes December Newsflash.

A bonus for scrapbookers who download the contest entry form is advice from professional photographer Andre Costantini, who has run workshops designed for scrapbookers at several scrapbook stores and regularly lectures on portrait photography around the country. Costantini provides 10 Photo Tips for the Scrapbooker that are sure to help photographers of any level make better pictures.

“Scrapbooking has become such a sophisticated hobby these days,” stated Stacie Errera, Chief Marketing Officer for Tamron. “But I firmly believe that one of the best ways to elevate the level of page layouts is to increase the quality of the photos being scrapped. When a scrapbooker learns how to take better photos, they can come away from an event or scene with many more good photos. The scrapbooker who takes time to know what she can do with her lens and camera ultimately has more choices of great photos when she sits down to scrapbook.”

The Tamron “An Emotional Appeal” Photo Contest deadline is 11/30/06.  The entry form and Andre Costantini’s photo tips can be downloaded by logging onto http://www.tamron.com/lenses/ck.asp
The “An Emotional Appeal” grand prize winner will receive a magnificent Tamron AF18-200mm F/3.5-6.3 Di-II Aspherical (IF) Macro zoom lens in a Digital SLR mount of their choice (Canon, Sony/Maxxum, Nikon or Pentax/Samsung) and have his or her winning picture showcased in Creating Keepsakes December edition of Newsflash and in Tamron’s Gallery section of the Tamron website. Up to 20 runners-up will also have their winning images published on the website for all to see.
